Wishing you and your family a blessed Ramadan.

O you, who believe. Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious). (Fasting) for a fixed number of days, but if any of you is ill or on a journey, the same number (should be made up) from other days. And as for those who can fast with difficulty, (i.e. an old man, etc.), they have (a choice either to fast or) to feed a poor person (for every day). But whoever does good of his own accord, it is better for him. And that you fast, it is better for you if only you know.” (Qur’an, 2:183-84)

Approaching the Last 10 Nights

Whoever prays the night during Laylat Al-Qadr out of faith and hope of reward, all their previous sins will be forgiven.” (Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

With the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would pray all the night, and would keep his family awake for the prayers. He tied his lower garment and devoted himself entirely to prayer and supplication.” (Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

Dua for the Last Ashra:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allahumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul afwa fa’fu annee

“O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.”

Dua of the Day, Ramadan Day 21

“Oh Allah, on this day, show me the way to win Your pleasure, do not let Shaytan have a means over me, make Paradise an abode and a resting place for me, O the One who fulfills the requests of the needy.”

Dhikr of the Day

SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi

“I praise Allah (or all praise is to Allah) above all attributes that do not suit His Majesty.”

Reward: A tree will be planted for you in Paradise. Another hadith relates that whoever says this 100 times a day, his/her sins will be forgiven even if they were as much as the foam of the sea. (Sahih Bukhari)

Hadith of the Day

Narrated Talha bin ‘Ubaidullah: A bedouin with unkempt hair came to Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) and said, “O Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him)! Inform me what Allah has made compulsory for me as regards the prayers.” He replied: “You have to offer perfectly the five compulsory prayers in a day and night (24 hours), unless you want to pray Nawafil.” The bedouin further asked, “Inform me what Allah has made compulsory for me as regards fasting.” He replied, “You have to fast during the whole month of Ramadan, unless you want to fast more as Nawafil.” The bedouin further asked, “Tell me how much Zakat Allah has enjoined on me.” Thus, Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) informed him about all the rules (i.e. fundamentals) of Islam. The bedouin then said, “By Him Who has honored you, I will neither perform any Nawafil nor will I decrease what Allah has enjoined on me. Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “If he is saying the truth, he will succeed (or he will be granted Paradise). (Sahih Bukhari)
